Snook fishing is on fire right now.
Today Norm from Canada and I got into an area where the bite was pretty god. The fish were very aggressive and seemed to have very little fear of the boat and our presence.

One of the fish slammed a Mirror Lure 28mr and tail walked over the water while the other inhaled a live shrimp and gave Norm a run and fight of a lifetime. It was awesome watching this today. The wind was up a little and that made it a little hard to see the reds but we were able to hook up and land one.

Actually it was a slam today as we boated all three favorite species... Trout, Snook and Red

Here's a few pictures for ya.

Another great day of Redfishing in the Mosquito Lagoon.
Today Ken and I had a blast hunting down the challenging MR. RED. Today was a little windy for a Summer weather pattern but the fish didn't seem to mind. We had some real good shots at Reds in shallow water today. From about 6am till about 11am the bite was the hottest ! Right now the weather is hot and humid so the fish are becoming slow and spooky in the early afternoons. It is surly a morning bite right now.

This has been an extremely busy month for me and I am so sorry I have been slacking on my reports... many days of 4 am wake up, 5 am fishing along with a few days of no camera on board or just not into taking a photo that day. Any way , I'm back at it with a nice fish for you to look at and a good report to go with.

A school of Big Reds are in the area and we had a fun time chasing them today. The best part was the fact that they seemed to like top water plugs as you can see. The bite is very early and seems to die at about 10-11 am. We need to be ready to hit it early and get off the water by 11am. The average day is in the mid to upper 90's with water temps in the 80's.

ITS HOT !
But they're biting.

Fishing in and around the Cocoa Beach area along the docks has provided some great shots at Redfish, Trout and Snook as of lately. Most of the Redfish have been in the 27-28 inch range. The Snook are in the 26-30 inch range hitting live shrimp, the Trout are any where from 15-22 inches taking Shrimp and top water plugs. The Jacks are stacked up in the locks along with Blue fish and Mangrove Snapper...the bite today was fast and furious for these guys. Summer is one of the most versatile seasons with so many places to go and fish to catch... it opens opportunities for all species all over the Space Coast. I Love this time of the year !

Great day of fishing the Black drum on the flats today.
The school was huge and the bite was hot. Lucky for us not many people were into chasing them around with us today and we had the school just about to our self except for one other boat. The fish ranged from 4 pounds to 12 pounds. After the bite slowed on the drum we poled around looking for Reds, didn't get to catch one but we seen a bunch of really nice sized Redfish. I expect the Redfishing to be a lot better this week.

Snook, Trout and Reds all in one day.
This is considered a slam when you boat all 3 in one day. Today we found a group of tailing Redfish on the flats and they were working the bottom fearlessly for some food. It was like a pack of wolves on a kill. The group of 50 or so Reds came right to us as I anchored up watching the tails wave in the air. With a few missed casts we were able to hook up. The same flat had a nice school of Black Drum, but no takers... The trout bite was best today with a steady catch of the line pullers and we finished off the day with a small Snook. All in all it's Summer and all the fish are feeding for us.

What a way to close out the month, with a double hook up on Snook. The docks in the Area are on fire... we had chances at Snook in the 34-36 inch range on multiple occasions. One we name Snookazilla it was so big. The Redfish are right there with them in and around the docks along with Big Trout. We came very close to a double Slam today By landing a Trout, red and Snook on the same day. The fish are all over the place, I Love the Summer !!!

Heres a picture of the double hook up on the honey hole dock, it was loaded with fish.

Just a little bit windier today than yesterday and that took our chances at chasing Big Reds away. Although it was tough to find them on the flats it wasn't so hard getting the Snook to eat in the protected waters of the Canal. Snook are just about the toughest fighting fish we have here in Central Florida. Not only are they scrappers but they are very beautiful as well. By far it is one of my top 5 favorites to target.

By the way GO MAGIC !!!

We love our beloved Orlando Magic here at the Carver Casa.

Tony has been fishing with me for 3 years now and today he was finally able to have a day where the weather was perfect and the Big Reds were eating for us. The past years we were not able to get one for him , just average sized fish. Today we had 200 fish all around us in a large school with most of them in the 30-40 pound range. This beast was 52 inches long and gave him a fight for a good 30 minutes. It was an amazing catch as we watched this fish come up to the surface and smash the live mullet on the end of the line.

Looks like it's Big Fish Time !

Today we were finally able to get into a Snook bite in the Cocoa Beach area. A good number of areas over there are holding Snook, Tarpon, Redfish and even Black Drum. We had a few good shots at Tarpon, one was about 10 pounds and another in the 30 pound range. Trout are every where and the Skip Jacks bite is contagious.... after you boat one you'll be hooked. The wind was perfect today, the skies are clear and the temps are in the 90's. What more could you want !

The Summer is on it's way and the air is heating up. The average right now is at about 90 degrees with 5 to 10 mph winds out of the East to S. East. Along with the hot temps we have some hot fishing as well. The Big Reds are here again along with the standard 4-8 pounders. The last few days we have had shots at large to small schools of them on the flats, they tend to be along with the Black Drum some days and others all by them selves. The Trout bite continues to be on fire and should stay that way for some time. Snook fishing is still slow for me in the Mosquito Lagoon so if thats a fish you want to Target we need to take a ride down south. One of my favorite things about the Summer is all the different types of fishing there is to be had... I'm looking forward to a good Season.

See you soon !

May is here and not to soon as it brings in the Big Boys...

This week we are really having some fun chasing the Big Reds around. The fish are here finally and now it's just up to you to call and book that trip, the fish have done their part by being here ready for you ! Today we had a group of 20-30 pound fish in the morning and then we found a group of about 300 6-7 pounders on the skinny flats. While we were chasing the smaller Reds I must have seen about 75-100 trout in the 4-6 pound range on the edges of the sand spots. I'm telling you the fish are here... Lets go fishing !
